Photo Education Overview
The Boston Camera Club includes members having a wide variety of interest, experience and capability. The photo Education Program attempts to educate and inspire all members – of all capabilities and interests by offering lectures on a wide variety of subjects (from landscape and nature photography, to night photography, documentary, photojournalism, macro photography, etc). The program for this year was developed based on a survey conducted among members for the subjects they would like to be included. Each module is designed to inspire and educate: you will VIEW interesting images, and learn HOW TO produce such images. In all areas of photography composition, lighting depth of field and subject selection are important, and each speaker will address these basic elements from a different angle. Therefore we hope that this series will be of interest to all photographers – regardless of their background or experience. The main focus of this series is the ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY, regardless of the capture mode (film or digital). Periodically, we may include more technical subjects like flash lighting, framing, printing etc, as long as the TECHNICAL aspect is not too complex.
Aspects related to digital photography, Photoshop editing etc will be covered separately by the Digital Education Group. That group may cover much more advanced topics that would be of great interest to a select group of members, with sufficient background in the area, but may not appeal to all members.
Over time, we hope to attract great speakers from the New England area, including members of the Boston Camera Club that would share their experience and knowledge.
We are always searching for speakers that can share with us inspiring photographs and are good teachers in any area of photography. If you can recommend a speaker, or would like to volunteer to make such a presentation at a future program, please email your suggestion to Yair Egozy at
