STAPLES, SCHARTZ, FINKS CLINCH BCC 2007-2008 PRINT TITLES IN APRIL
In unusually dominant displays of consistently excellent printmaking, all three print category leaders clinched the Annual titles awards in April. This fact was kept secret pending the outcome of the May competition.

Dave Finks’ title is especially poignant because he has disqualified himself from further Color B competition. As winner of Color B, Dave is promoted to Color A for the 2008-2009 season. If second and third place winners Corliss Engle and Elena Maris place third or higher next year, they will advance to Color A in the 2009-2010 season.
As a reminder that “persistence pays”, remember that all print entries receive a point. Therefore, competitors who enter the maximum 2 prints/competition in Color A/B over the nine competitions accumulate at least 18 points, even if they never receive an Honorable Mention. In the Special Topic category, since there are 4 prints/competition this number rises to 36.
